eQuay Newsletter - 9th March 2018

It's a very different forecast this weekend from last week.  The snow has gone and it will be much warmer.  Overnight tonight we are expecting some heavy rain but that will clear tomorrow morning to leave a drier afternoon, maybe with the odd sunny spell.  Sunday (Mother's Day) will start dry but with showers developing during the afternoon and evening.  The winds on Saturday will be a F3-4 from the South and on Sunday these will swing round from the East.

Congratulations - Freemantle Yacht Rigging
Congratulations to Andy and Laura Freemantle on the arrival of son Ethan.  It was great to meet him at the marina this week.  Andy's having a few weeks off but Rich is around at the workshop and we can always pass on messages.

Marina Staff
It's Happy Birthday to Berthing Masters David Smart on Sunday and Phil Warner who is celebrating his 50th next Tuesday.

Barrage Closure
The Cardiff Barrage will be closed to the public next Tuesday and Wednesday for the removal of the stop logs from Lock 3.  There should not be any disruption to lock operations for vessels.

Berthing Licence renewal
All existing customers should have received their berthing licence renewal for the new season starting on the 1st April 2018.  The majority have been delivered by email.  If you haven't had your berthing licence offer please let us know by calling the Marina Office.

Marina Maintenance
Following the snow and freezing temperatures last week we are back up and running with the water back on for the majority of the marina.  There is still one leak that we need to fix on D leg so apologies that there is no water on that leg at the moment.  We are continuing with the pressure washing of the pontoons.  Next week we will be working in the Outer Basin.  When washing the pontoons we endeavour to wash off any splashback from adjacent vessels immediately.  However if we have missed any please let us know and we will rectify this.

Wi-Fi Upgrade
At the end of next week we plan to upgrade the Wi-Fi to the next generation of transmitters.  There will be some disruption to the service on Thursday and Friday, but it should all be back up and running by next weekend.
